TEAM DAVIS
Meet Our Staff
Andrea Davis, PT, BS, MSPT, DPT
Owner
Knowledgeable. Attentive. Trailblazing. The first three words come to mind when someone is asked to describe Dr. Andrea Davis.

What began as a result of playing competitive field hockey, basketball and softball in high school and NCAA Division III in college has become a decades-long commitment to helping others. This drive has brought Dr. Davis to where she is today – a business owner, mentor, advocate and friend to patients young and old who like her needed to seek physical therapy in order to live life to its fullest.
Antoinette M. Shields, AIB-VRC, PT, DPT
Director of Clinical Operations
Dr. Antoinette M. Shields joined Davis Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab in January 2019 and quickly took on the lead therapist role, overseeing and mentoring the practice aides while managing her own patient caseload. As the practice grew, so did Dr. Shields’ responsibilities, and her years of military training at West Point made it easy to take on more and provide a unique outlook in her role. Taking on the position of Director of Clinical Operations in April 2021, she shoulders the comprehensive responsibilities of staff scheduling, daily operational supervision, and the creation and evaluation of treatment plans. Her utmost commitment is to ensure high-quality care for outpatient and acute rehabilitation patients. In addition, her work involves a close collaboration with Dr. Davis and the practice's office manager. Dr. Shields, whose passion for patient care remains undiminished a decade after receiving her doctorate degree, continues to evaluate, devise treatment strategies, and manage patient cases effectively.
Taylor Timmons, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Dr. Taylor Timmons is a full-time licensed physical therapist who has been part of Team Davis since 2017. Skilled in all aspects of treatment planning and care, she is experienced in neurologic physical therapy and helping patients with movement difficulties resulting from stroke, brain injury or disease of the nervous system. This also includes Dr. Timmons’ adeptness in treating individuals who have suffered a fall and developing prevention programs for those at greater risk. In addition to patient care, she oversees support staff, tracks technology testing timelines and manages mini-sensor testing.
Tyler Huggins, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Dr. Huggins became a valued member of Team Davis in July 2023, bringing a wealth of experience from his early days as a staff physical therapist and clinic manager. His expertise extends across a wide spectrum of specialized care, encompassing post-surgical recovery, chronic pain alleviation, and sports injury rehabilitation. Furthermore, Dr. Huggins has collaborated with surgeons to formulate post-operative physical therapy protocols tailored for patients with meniscal root repairs. In the past, his commitment to physical therapy continued after hours; at the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked alongside athletic trainers, contributing his knowledge and skills to the development and care of the men’s and women’s soccer teams, as well as the field hockey teams.
René Audet, PT, MPT
Physical Therapist
René Audet has been a part of Team Davis and a familiar face since 2016, treating patients with various orthopedic conditions on a per diem basis. When asked to come onboard full-time in April 2024, the licensed physical therapist had no hesitation having experienced first-hand the company’s culture and sense of family both with the patients and co-workers. René is skilled in the evaluation of patients and using data along with each individual’s goals, influences and other external factors in treatment planning and care. Her years of experience in providing homecare influence-based physical therapy offers a level of compassion well-received by patients no matter their age or condition. Homecare taught her to look at the whole person and all that affects their care including environmental, social/personal relationships and general medical history, not just a “knee” or “shoulder” problem. It is this combined with strong communication skills and an eagerness for continued learning that has made her a welcome full-time fit for the team.
Alyssa (Lou) Kalitz, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Team Davis welcomed Dr. Alyssa Kalitz in March 2024 as a full-time licensed physical therapist, evaluating and developing individual treatment plans for patients recovering from injury and those suffering with pain, limited mobility or a decrease in function. Dr. Lou, as she is known to most, thrives on being an interactive clinician – one that is constantly on the move performing manual techniques on patients, demonstrating exercises, explaining correct body mechanics and illustrating the importance of proper movement. She is also a proponent of incorporating technology within the personalized programs.
Chris Emery
Physical Therapist Assistant
Chris Emery became a valued addition to Team Davis as a Physical Therapist Assistant in July of 2024. With a rich professional background spanning over 26 years, his dedication and exceptional skill set have fostered enduring rapport with patients. Chris has garnered experience across a wide spectrum of regional healthcare facilities, specializing in pediatric, aquatic, sports, acute, sub-acute, and orthopedic therapy. His role empowers patients to achieve rehabilitative goals and integrate self-care practices to prevent recurring injuries.

What quickly became a passion for overall wellness and health ultimately led to Erica’s interest in exercise science and where she is today.
Melissa Sherpensky, Assistant Office Manager

Melissa Sherpensky is no stranger to Davis PTSR, having known Dr. Davis for more than 20 years. So when she joined the team in February 2023 as the Assistant Office Manager, she was familiar with the practice, its mission and overall commitment to patient care. Melissa’s responsibilities run the gamut from processing insurance verifications and managing IT-related issues to assisting the front desk in scheduling appointments and preparing for patients’ first visits. She is also a righthand for our owner, clinical director and office manager. It is this role – helping both patients and co-workers – that Melissa enjoys most in an environment that epitomizes teamwork.

Prior to coming on board, Melissa spent two decades as a surgical scheduler with a reputation for professionalism and attention to detail. Born and raised in South Jersey, Melissa places great value on spending time with family, whether watching her two children play sports or heading to the beach.
Nicole Schumacher, Front Desk Supervisor

Since joining Davis PTSR as an aide in May 2022, Nicole Schumacher has continued to expand her role on Team Davis. She has evolved from training new hires and facilitating a good workflow with patients to assisting with AMI testing and the billing department’s needs. Today, Nicole works at the front desk hand-in hand with Davis PTSR’s Office Manager, including checking in patients and scheduling the other receptionists working beside her. A “day in the life” varies day by day and hour by hour but there is one constant – Nicole finds great satisfaction in interacting with people, especially witnessing patients who initially come in feeling hesitant or unsure, gradually becoming more at ease with each subsequent visit.

Nicole received her undergraduate degree in Health Science at Stockton University, during which time she was a student athletic trainer and worked with many different sports teams. She also participated in gymnastics and competitive cheerleading while assisting in coaching the younger teams. Unlike many who may have a second choice of career if asked, Nicole has always been interested in healthcare, specifically for athletes. The South Jersey native and fan of traveling has found a home at Davis PTSR—one filled with mentors, each of whom quench her eagerness to learn more.
